Malignant MelanomaThis is an obvious example. They are not always so clear cut. The dark pigmentation and the variable colours are the main clues. Excision and histology is mandatory. The margins of excision need to be at least a 1cm. The pathologist will give you the Clarke classification. This will determine the prognosis and whether further treatment is required.
